I like them little sweet potato pies that the older black ladies around here sell, more like a turnover. I'm going to try this one out though. I love some sweet potato pies.

One of the best pies I ever ate was a sweet potato pecan pie from Wayne's Bakery in Baton Rouge. Since then I always grab a piece of it when its available somewhere. Thanks for the recipe. I might give it a shot and add the pecan glaze.

Good recipe. Sweet potato pie is one of my favorite to make and eat.

Yum. I'm going to be trying your cornbread recipe next week. I found the old thread, but unfortunately the pictures aren't showing up. I'd like to see them. Any chance you still have them lying around? I'll report back how it turns out. I even got one of those cast iron cornbread molds that look like little corns.

I haven't had a ton of SPPs in my day, but the ones I have had have kind of made me think of Pumpkin pie but not as good.

Maybe i've only had bad ones?

I think you have just had bad ones. It is hard to beat a good sweet potato pie. Some people put lots of eggs in them and really get them thin. I prefer to leave them thick like MeridianDogs. I do add a little Mexican vanilla to mine, but pretty much the same besides that.

That is a nice looking pie and pictures.
