Should I take my wife to Cochon or Pamplona for dinner tonight? She's been wanting to try both places, and I can't decide which one we should try first.

The food is better at Cochon, but Pamplona probably has better atmosphere for, you know, romance and stuff.

I'm all about the food and she's all about the atmosphere. I might as well try to score some points and do pamplona.

Do your safe a favor and disregard the first suggestion.

Pamplona's food is head and shoulders better than Cochon. It's truly not even close. Ambiance is better as well. There is a reason Pamplona is doing twice as well with half the location of Cochon.

Do yourself another favor and ask the bartender to mix you up a cocktail. Somewhat of a mixologist, the guy can whip up some magical stuff.

Yeah, no. Pamplona is a good, if inconsistent restaurant, but I don't think it's better than Cochon. To suggest it is, and by a wide margin, is just, well, fricking stupid.

I agree with your sentiment, from my experience I felt that Pamplona had better food. I will say that I only tried Cochon once though and am willing to give it another try. I like the wine selection and ambiance at Pamplona.

Pamplona! Ask Anson behind the bar for a "banshee's kiss" ... Excellent custom drink.

If you're a Laffy resident I'd recommend Cochon since you can get Pamplona anytime

I would recommend Pamplona to a NOLA resident that is visiting since they can get Cochon there

And logically I know this seems like it doesn't make any sense but it does

<------ Doesn't work at Pamplona. I suppose it's a simple difference of opinion.

I'd like to think my opinion makes more sense than yours being that there are already rumblings of Cochon folding. I frequent both and I'd like to think I'm in good company with my opinion.

Let us know how the experience was.

Hey I'm not pimping the place. I actually think it's somewhat overrated

As someone who doesn't live in Laffy, I really enjoyed Pamplona when I went to visit.

Sorry about that, was too lazy to reply to the person intended.

You and I seem to share the opinion that Cochon is a good restaurant. I just have a hard time putting them in the elite category.
