That's how I do mine to drain before putting on the table. Works like a charm.

Honestly, I would say crawfish are one of the easiest things to get right

The instructions are simple, and no advanced cooking techniques are needed at all

Which is all the more amazing how many threads we get on here about it

Where do you buy a sack in Auburn?

Through the Big Blue Crawfish. Follow them on the facebooks and they will post when they are taking live sack orders.

My wife is already planning her next big boil and we haven't even murdered a single crawfish yet.

Yep. I would be a bit worried if he was doing shrimp for the first time. Those are so easy to over cook.

100%. You literally just don't overcook them. And by tasting along the way, it's almost impossible.

Because people think their recipe is the only one and there's no possible way yours can be good because it's different than theirs.

Then those same people ask how much pineapple juice they should add because they want to mix it up a bit.

It's the damndest thing but par for the FDB course.

I was just thinking I like the cut of ole baw's jib. And his wife sounds cool too.

OP, keep us posted. And remember this, you can't have too many lemons or garlic.

He's got a good sense of humor. Seems like one of them baws that's real good at telling stories IRL.

What’s funnier is people still come here to bitch and moan about crawfish recipes and threads and threads about recipes.

Quit stifling conversation, Karl Marx.

If you're like me you've never seen the process done in person. I mean everyone has probably seen someone grill a piece of meat. Probably not a lot of people outside of LA get to see the crawfish cooking in person. One thing to read about it, it's another thing to actually do it yourself.

Doesn't seem like rocket science. I figured there would be enough morbidly curious guys around to watch a virgin stick it in for the first time and give him some pointers as he's doing it

Think about it:

Every retard, redneck, and invalid in the state of Louisiana has the same set up, essentially, that you just got and can boil crawfish without really having or knowing how to read.

You got this, baw

Now that I know you are in Auburn, forget about my backup plan in buying 35lbs of already cooked crawfish. As others have said. You got this! Not an issue. But I will say get your guest drunk. No matter how they taste, drinking will make everyone love the boil.

It is not and you will get better with experience. Clean them good and follow the instruction in this thread.

We need to build his confidence. He should also be inebriated the whole time.

Wasn’t sure if anybody had mentioned that.

You'll be just fine.

And like net is saying, no less than a 6 pack is to be consumed from the moment you light the burner to the moment crawfish hit the table. And a 6 pack is me being very generous here.
