Just got a double jet burner but it came with a 10psi regulator.
Is 10 enough?
Should I spring for a 30?
Remove the regulator and use a needle valve?

I personally would change out the regulator to the 30.

I have a 60 because I got it on sale, but 30 will do just fine.

I prefer that...doesn’t freeze up.

It will frost up if you run it hard enough but I’ve never had a freeze, and my burner draws A LOT of gas.

PawnMaster, beautiful fuel/air ratio. That pinkish-purple color is what your striving for.

With a 30 psi regulator my pot is at a rolling boil in 15 minutes

I have no freaking clue why anyone would want faster than that

The quicker you bring the crawfish back to a boil, the better IMO. I time my crawfish from when the water starts to boil. I start my timer when the crawfish come back to a boil. Reducing the amount of time the crawfish spend in hot water gives you a more accurate cook time. Now, is that absolutely necessary? No. But it certainly helps.

Also, I often boil two sacks at once in a 140 quart pot. A 30 PSI single jet burner ain’t gonna cut it for that.

Like I said it’s not required, it’s just what I like.
