Why are hard shells such a big deal? It doesn't bother me for peeling and the meat is plenty good for eating.
Maybe it's because I don't peel scales off, as I just pop the tail off and pull the meat out?

They're not for normal people. Pop off the tail, pinch the back end and pull the meat out with your teeth. Repeat.

Right its no problem for us who dont really "peel" anything to get the meat. My problem with it is that it affects the sucking of the heads.

Damn that’s way too soon IMO
I wish Crawfish on the Geaux etc didn’t stop so early - I agree with the people saying hard crawfish aren’t a problem except for head sucking.

And cleaning of the heads if wanting to make traditional crawfish bisque. Those hard shell heads will eat up your fingers trying to clean them for stuffing.
