Longtime FDB lurker, first time poster-

Starting to add a few kitchen items to the ole wedding registry. Any recs on the best deep fryers?

I’m leaning toward a 4 qt with multiple baskets.

TIA!

LINK

We have the one linked above. I like it. Don't use it a ton, but it works well when we do.

If you are looking for a large batch fryer I would get this instead. Can't stand the oil haze that you get from frying inside..

I've had one for a year or so. I use it outside on the patio because I don't like to smell up the house with fried food.
It replaced an older Cuisinart that finally died. I really like it if I am planning on doing several meals within a short period of time. It excelled on my recent fishing trip to Arkansas. I used the filtered oil three times before discarding and just wiped out the residue in the bottom of the fry tank in between uses. It is really convenient for that. If you refrigerate the used oil, you can keep it for a longer period.
If you only use your oil one time, then there is really no advantage. Always place the plastic filtration reservoir on the top rack of the dishwasher. As with most fryers of this type, everything but the element portion and the power cord can be put in the dishwasher.

I have this one but didn't get the Oil Filtration option. I don't fry often enough to worry about reuse . I love it.

I second this. Countertop units suck comparatively speaking. You need more volume to prevent temperature drops. The Cajun Fryer are on a different level. I have the 4 gallon version and it works astoundingly well.

Those rigs are awesome...I've had one. You can feed an army.

But, I rarely need to feed an army. I like my little countertop. It's an excellent tool to have.

yea but i dont see an issue firing it up for a bag of fries for 2 people. it will cook way better than a counter top unit. I have had 2 and they just dont work every well due to lack of oil volume.

I’ve got that one. The oil filtration system can sometimes be a little finicky. I’ve never had any problems getting the oil to temperature as some reviews mentioned

I got a Butterball indoor fryer for frying my Thanksgiving turkey one wet and cold Thanksgiving.

It now handles anything that I fry (used it last weekend for fried chicken). I don’t fry often, but it’s great to have when I need it and handles anything up to the size of a turkey.
