Corn-on-the-cob holder gimmicks

Why do these exist? It it’s too hot to hold, it’s too hot to eat.

I've used those doohickeys for about a million different things, but never once for eating corn on the cob.

I use them and my dishes (not the plastic dishes) every time I eat corn on the cob. I put a slice of butter on the bottom and turn the corn in it. Keeps it good and buttered.
