This. It's a lot of food and I was kind of upset that I was so full that I couldn't enjoy most of the desserts. They will bring out one of every dessert that have, including the souffle.

You have your own dedicated waiter and a somewhat dedicated chef.

As for the table, they will decorate it some and with all of the food and wine glasses, etc, you will feel like it's something very special.

I have done it twice. These rank up there with the best meals I have ever had. The head chef (Tory) is your waiter (tip well). There is a multi course set menu with wine parings but it is flexible. They ask you if there is anything special you want. For dessert they just bring you one of everything. You can order this same menu at a regular table. They call it the Chef's Tasting Menu. The menu is the same as the basic one at the Chef's Table without the extra bells and whistles.

Did this dinner about 15 years ago. We get used to the quality dinner experiences we have here in NOLA and beyond, but Commnander's should be on anyone's bucket list.

Exec Chef Tory McPhail is awesome. He spent alot of time at our table and personally brought over all kinds of odds and ends that were delicious.

The experience is worth the $$$ if you're into food/wine/cocktails. If you've got a party larger than 4, they've also got a Wine Cellar Room that is basically the same concept, but it's used to host larger parties up to 12 or 14 I believe.

but I’ve never heard of a chef’s table that lets you decide what course/items from the normal menu you would like

I've done 2 or so where you get to pick a couple entrees/desserts and the rest is pre-determined. Like you have a soup/salad/fish course pre determined, then you pick 2-3 other courses then they finish with something at the end. And if allergic then you for sure get to be more picky of course

Usually agree you just say "tasting menu" type thing and that's it

They often email over a sheet for you to fill out with allergies and anything in-particular that you would like to try. When we went, we requested scallops and a great chocolate dessert. We were able to get both.

If you enjoy wine, let them pair. Their sommeliers are amazing and you won't go wrong. You don't need the expensive wine pairing package. The lowest one will work just fine in my opinion.
