Fried chicken picnics. Not sure where the whiskey comes into play here.

"Picnic Provisions & Whiskey, the casual new restaurant from Ti Martin and Tory McPhail from Commander’s Palace and Reginelli’s founder Darryl Reginelli, will open September 10, according to a statement released today."

"The restaurant, with dine-in, carry-out, delivery, and catering, will serve a menu of classic Southern dishes, picnic standards, and cocktails.

In the name of research, McPhail has “visited 80+ restaurants that serve fried chicken over the last year,” Martin said in an email. McPhail’s Instagram account has basically become a travel guide for fried chicken lovers.

The team hinted that there may be more Picnic Provisions & Whiskey outlets in the future. In early job postings, it was described as a “prototype for more to come.”

The partnership between Commander’s and Reginelli’s goes back to 2012, when the two restaurant groups partnered to expand Reginelli’s outside the New Orleans area, diversifying the Commander’s Palace family of restaurants portfolio"

So will they have whiskey? Wasn't really made clear in the write ups.

Also Fried Chicken and Beer/wine are a better pair for a picnic.

Bougie fried chicken is an interesting concept.

Guess we will see. It's also not in their trademark description of goods and services:

" Restaurant; restaurant and bar services; restaurant and café services; restaurant and catering services; restaurant services; restaurant services featuring sandwiches; café and restaurant services; fast-food restaurants and snackbars; self service restaurants; self-service restaurant services; take-out restaurant services"

So if I'm just hanging out at the park, and I call them up, they'll bring me a box of fried chicken and a bottle of whiskey?

That might be one of the greatest ideas ever.

ETA: Also, in my opinion, Picnic Provisions & Whiskey is redundant.

Remember that place Noodle & Pie? Taking over that space. Down the street from Avo.

The whole concept sounds rather goofy here.

I remember seeing some pictures of Tory with gas station fried chicken. That chicken better be good if he's sampled that much of it.
