West Tn 1950's, mostly at screen door, country gas stations selling crickets and cane poles. Tom's salted greasy little peanuts came in an easy tear small paper tube making it easy to pour them into a bottle. Probably more common with Pepsi bottles. Getting the last few out took practice and skill. The peanuts floated. You had jiggle the bottle just right creating waves that swept the nuts into you mouth. Alternate strategy was to shake and quickly drink before nuts had time to float away from the upturned mouth. More often than not the nuts were nearly rancid.
