Coffeemaker topic (again) thoughts on grind & brew models

Redoing our kitchen and while I have a good ol' Chemex for the weekends, it would be nice to have a decent daily-driver that falls somewhere between shitty Keurig and less-than-convenient Chemex on busy mornings.
I am drawn to the idea of having the coffeemaker wake up and grind fresh beans for the brew while my fat-arse rolls out of bed and bumps into a few walls heading towards the kitchen.
All of these seem to grind and brew in roughly 10 minutes.
It seems there are 4 main competitors in the $500/under range
Weighing in at $499, we have the DeLonghi TrueBrew that will measure out single cups as well as full 12 cup carafe.
The next level at $349; Breville seems to be the critics choice, but consumer purchasers have mixed reviews on cleaning and other hassles. It also supposedly makes a great single cup as well as a full carafe and allows you to fine tune the coarseness of the grind. You fill up the resevoir and tell it how many cups you want and it only uses that much water. It also has a decent sized hopper so you can get 2 or 3 brews before you have to refill the beans but that's not really a big deal since you'll be filling the water up daily anyway, so its not hard to dump a few beans in at the same time.
I'm a little turned off because this was available for $249 for the past 4 years but now $349 is the price everywhere.
Third, we have good ol' Cusinart Grind n Brew WAAY down the price chart at $129 at Costco right now ($199 at Amazon). Seems like a solid performer but can only do a minimum of 4 cups and I think its kinda dumb..you can set the bean grinding ratio correctly but its up to you to only put as much water as you need in the resevoir because its going to empty the whole thing into the pot so its fine if you're always doing a full pot but you're likely to screw it up if you decide to do a smaller amount.
Finally, we have this little Gevi ... Chinese model on Amazon for $149 which was the cheapest until I found Costco carries that Cusinart for $129. It also claims to do single cups as well as a whole pot but I'm having a hard time separating the 'shill' reviews from actual customers to get a real rating on it. My gut says STAY AWAY

The KBGV basket fits right under the grinder, it goes directly into the filter. We don’t use that jar.

I have one from Phillips. It was 1k but they have some less expensive ones.
Ceramic burr grinder. I fkin love it. makes various things with or without milk. I do a double expresso every morning, well 2.

Smeg is actually just fancy DeLonghi. Not the best, and definitely not worth the asking price.
As for your question, automatic grind and brew seems like a good way to over complicate a simple task. It takes me all but a minute to grind, dump grinds, and hit the brew button in the morning. I’d get a good grinder and something like an OXO, Technivorm, or Bonavita drip machine. If you want to brew different sizes, I like my Braun Multiserve just fine.
Edit: if you are set on one of the choices in your OP, get the Breville. The others are known low quality brands.
Edit 2: man, the reviews are awful for that Breville. I stand by my original post - get a separate grinder and machine. You can get a Capresso Infinity Plus for $100 and a high quality drip machine for $150-$250.

+1 on getting a separate grinder and brewer.
I have a moccamaster I love. It’s not a pour over but close.
I have a baratza encore, it’s loud af. I’d look at the Fellow grinders.
I had the grinder brewer combo years ago. It was convenient but did neither action well. If you’re used to a chemex cup skip the combo, you’ll be disappointed.

Are the rest of your grinding the beans the day before and dumping the grounds into the machine?
Maybe it's a gimmick but I like the beans ground right before I brew the coffee but don't have the time to do that in the mornings. I'm already busy enough with 2 kids a wife and a job.

How long does it take to grind the beans and dump them in the filter with the water pre-loaded? 20 seconds of active time?

Most of us have kids, spouses, and jobs too and still find the extra minute to grind coffee, dump it in the machine, and press a button.
Go for the all in one machine if you want, but it’ll disappoint you in the end.
