I used a non toxic household degreaser, and cleaned my all ss grill (blaze); wiped it and rinsed it with water, then ran it for about 30 minutes

just wondering if I should go back and wash the grates with soap and water, or if any chemical would just burn off

Id never put any cleaner on my grates, fire and scraping with an aluminum foil wad cleans em.

You should be good. Sounds like you burned it off. Just remember to oil your grates.

I have a Weber Genesis and will burn off any residue on the grates and after they cool I'll remove them and hit them with my pressure washer to clean all the gunk off.

Then I'll clean the grills interior real good and when that is done I'll put everything back together and fire it up to heat everything up and then hit the grates with some oil while they are hot.

If your grill goes past 500, you should be fine. I always run mine for about 30 minutes on high (700) before cooking to burn off the outdoor things, and 30 minutes after to burn off all the cooked bits so hopefully it doesn't attract any outdoor things.

I have a Weber Spirit 2-burner that gets to about 650 degrees. I just burn shite off the grates.

I used to have Weber Summit SS grill. Hated cleaning the outside. I much prefer the non-SS gas grill.

Having said that, I use my charcoal grill 80% of the time. I enjoy using fire.
