City Diner wasn't that good. I never sign on with the "we make huge *blank*" gimmick. I don't need a pancake the size of a pizza pan.

I really thought the pancakes tasted really good - huge or not. is it as simple as adding more sweetener to make them taste like that?

I didn't think their other food was any better than typical diner food (with a Louisiana bent).

I thought the giant pancake was good.. Just put the leftover in the freezer and have pancakes without the dirty pans.. I was there one time and guy orders the pancake without knowing the size. When they put it in front of him he freaks out and makes a scene.. It was pretty funny.

Hate to hear they're gone. I used to have to attend meetings in New Orleans once or twice a year and that's where I would usually go to for supper.

I never had their pancakes (kept saying I would next time I was that way), but I've found vanilla flavoring is a good addition when I want my pancakes to have a sweet taste. Again, not sure if that would be what you're looking for.

One of the food writers wrote about it last week

The chef was cooking out of a gas station in Lafayette or somewhere

Lost me when they said it is converting to a buffet tho

Chicken Tiki Marsala , was better than Taj. The original location is extremely well received. Like a lot of Indian places they will include a buffet in addition to a fairly extensive menu.
