We eat Mexican at least once a week. No way I’m fighting the crowds for it tomorrow. I’ll go tonight or Saturday.
Edit: I know some like to cook from home but nothing is better than sitting at the bar at your favorite Mexican restaurant.

We stay away as well, it's like the entire public forgets they serve Mexican food the other 364 days of the year.

My best friend’s birthday is May 6 and she loves Cinco out with the people the night before. I dislike crowds on nights like that.
This year we compromised - We took off of work (I get a couple of “free play” holidays in addition to my normal PTO/holidays), and we have a reservation at Superior at 11am. We can do a little day time drinking and be home before it gets TOO wild. Or at least, we will have a spot that’s ours even if it is wild.

Crowds like that were fun when I was 25. We eat Mexican all the time too. No need to get out in that mess.

They still can be in your 40’s and beyond. 3-4 times a year or so is perfectly normal. Special occasions are great for this reason.
It’s very unfortunate that a good amount of people get stuck in a rut and don’t experience anything beyond a mundane routine of everyday life.

When you’re in college or your early 20s, the appeal is there to go out for Cinco De Mayo. When you have kids at home it changes things a bit when you’re in your late thirties and forties and the appeal wears off.

Yeah man we are in our mid to late 40s. We went to Barracuda tacos last weekend and sat out in the courtyard and had some food and margaritas. It was enjoyable.

Celebrated early today. Queso, Jimmy Dean hot sausage, spicy Rotel, skinned Poblanos, corn, sour cream, habanero hot salsa (kicked up to our heat level), fresh and pickled jalapeños, cilantro.
May hit up a local and authentic taco shop nearby tomorrow. None of the tex-mex places that will be slammed.
