It's grinding coffee and water. Ain't no fetish. Literally the only reason I have one is because there is zero cleanup.
I am just shocked a beaker showed up in your house, you taught yourself to use it, but you never discussed enough to hear the name. Especially if your ole lady went enough out the way to get the setup and convert yall.
I still keep the campfire setup for my parents and even they have asked about the chemex. They don't even use it.
Regular filters have never worked for me. Filter is too low for the amount of grinds needed, unless I want weak coffee. And then if you fill it too much it leaves grinds that get into your cup.

Chemex use to make a badass mixer... and I have one! It is like a Bosch universal but without the universal function and beefier.

quote:you can skip this step if you filled the chemex with hot water to the rim because when you pour it out the chemex neck will still be plenty wet to get your filter damp.
Wet filter and put in chemex, thick side to the pour side.
Plus you've "preheated" the chemex glass so it won't cool off as fast.

just really absurd to think you slipped tripped and fell into this situation without knowing.
That is some funny shite right there!

This makes me wonder about the lazy millennial generation. One of my kids has a poor over and one has a french press and it is all the use. Even on workdays. Meanwhile mom over here has a ninja Mr. Coffee looking thing that makes a vat of coffee that I drink all morning with the keep warm setting for 4 hours. Probably not nearly as tasty as theirs
