Chemex lovers! What's your ritual?

its become a daily routine during the week.
i can have a fresh batch in roughly 10 minutes or so; my ritual is:
- fill chemex to the rim with HOT water (that thing is ice cold when i take it out of the cabinet) and fill mug with hot water
- 24oz of ice cold water into the teapot
- "4" setting on grinder set to medium coarse yields EXACTLY 41 grams of coffee grounds every single time for that GOLDEN 1:15 ratio.
- when kettle is boiling, empty chemex and place on a rubber trivet (that marble countertop is cold!!), add filter & dump grounds in
- pour just enough swirly twirly water in to get the gas bubbles out
- finish up the swirly twirly water in 2 large pours into chemex
- dump water out of mug, fill with nectar of the Gods!
- DRINK ALL 24 OUNCES AT ONCE AND POST ABOUT IT ON THE FOOD BOARD

On Weekends:
Fill kettle with Dihydrogen Monoxide
Put on induction burner to high (never boil, it fricks up the grinds)
Push the grind button 30-35 seconds.
Wet filter and put in chemex, thick side to the pour side.
6 minutes later wet the grinds to bloom
About 30 second later start pouring amd letting rest.
On Weekdays:
Shower.
Get out of shower and she has my coffee made.
Go to work.

I see you've destroyed me.
Thick side on the pour side? Hmmm. I've been doing it backwards.

I have an automatic water boiler…but first I get the filter out and fold the bottom and side edges over, put it in the filter holder and put under the grinder outlet. Set the grinder to medium coarse and set it to 8 cups (never have measured the output weight). After grinding I put it on the machine and add water up to the 10, flip the switch on. I watch as the water comes out and I stir making sure to wet all of the grinds…start prepping my wife’s warm milk…

When I do the single side it seems to make more of a mess. The air bubbles I guess.
Also, I see you have the non-handle chemex. Peasant.
Seriously though, the handled version is possibly the best upgrade ever. I wouldn't buy an additional, but if I were buying new no doubt go handled. My girl bought one to make her mornings easier and it really is worth it

most coffee baws on here are french press
I use an automated espresso machine that has like 16 coffee options. Most days are a double espresso and an americano or coffee but it still makes a puck.

I'm just bothered by how our educational system has failed us.
You really never heard of chemex, despite owning one and pulling their filters every day?
I'd be curious if my girl brought in a new piece of equipment.

I was suspicious, but now I am intrigued.
Figuring out how it works is insignificant. You mean to tell me a beaker showed up on your stove and you figured, grind the beans, fold the filter, pour and steep.
Made acceptable coffee witout a question. And in all that, you didn't notice Chemex written in 2 inch tall letters nor ask the name of the device? Made your coffee because that is all you had?
Just saying this is interesting how far you went without hearing the name

Just speaking the truth bro. Did you really adjust to using a CHEMEX without ever asking or realizing you were using CHEMEX fliters and never understand what was going on?
It isn't some high tech contraption, just really absurd to think you slipped tripped and fell into this situation without knowing.
