having a solid social media game is not enough. If he was that well loved he would be Where McClure's or the Joint is now.
The Joint does very well and it's in a hard to get to almost hidden location.
He was smack dab in the Irish channel on a major street.

Unlike you Napoleon I don't know what it takes to run a BBQ business. I was just commenting on Rob's "bad PR skills". From what I can see on the tweets and instagrams that the man is well liked. I have to remind myself why I don't like him. It's because he's a cat person, can't trust him.
As far as could be where McClures is now that's doubtful. Neil hit the lottery with NOLA tap room. Not that he didn't deserve it. The man works hard and he as always provide food and or pit space for many of the events at the brewery. He's selling a lot of BBQ but it's nothing on the level of the Dantes pop up days.
I actually just finished off some breakfast tacos using leftover McClures brisket.
Also worth noting Chef Rob gave McClures a shout out the other day.

Which is odd considering he was hammering them when they opened.
He has done a 180 with his internet persona. Obviously someone close to him got to him and let him know he needs to chill out. There are tons of instagram foodies with "fans", but it doesnt translate to good business or money
His whole zen/buddha/wholesome guy bullshite comes off as disingenuous considering the guy was insulting and ran his mouth for months.

Think that was the price of the sampler, it was a ton of food.

Anybody going to his sold out Brown Butter 'cue pop-up?
Just whack-a-moling pop ups all over Carrollton. Maybe he pops up in Pei Wei or Panera next.
