this is the location i go to as well, their fries are among my favorite.
i did make a mistake once ordering cheese fries. this turned out to be a serving of cheese wiz on the side with my fries, so i'll never do that again. i've heard it wasn't like that in baton rouge though.

I'm with you...love the cheesesteaks, but don't like the fries.

Actually, the last couple of times that I went to South of Philly, the fries had gotten a lot better...They do kind of skimp on the whiz though, so you gotta tell them to put enough on so that you can taste it...Awesome cheesesteaks.

The two times I have eaten there the fries were the best part of the meal. If you can get past the way the paper bag looks (soaked with grease - not sure about dining in, but I got my orders to go both times), the fries themselves are actually very good and NOT greasy. Might be the best fries in the Sherwood-Coursey-Siegen area.

I went a few days ago. The cheesesteak was good as it had been in the past. The fries were crisp, but not super crispy like at fast food joints. I liked them that way, especially with plenty of malted vinegar and salt.
