At the risk of getting lambasted by the lovely FDB patrons for asking about a chain restaurant, does anyone have an opinion on Cheddar's in Lafayette? Chain-wise is it decent?

And while we're at it, any similar local spots with good steak or seafood?

The food was decent but the service was terrible.

Can only speak to the one I've eaten at in Longview. Never again.

Service was atrocious and I wasn't expecting much to begin with. The food was even worse.

At least go to Twin Peaks next door if you want somewhere similar. They have nice views

I wouldn't recommend it. Tried it out when it was fairly new. My significant other had a live spider in her food. Waitress didn't want to touch the plate, but finally got it back to the kitchen. Manager came out and said he would call an exterminator to go that week. Made us pay for food we didn't eat. Obviously not a good experience for us, but it was the first and only time we ate there. Someone who has been there more than I have can probably give better opinions.

Had the one in Shreveport and it sucked--service, food quality, you name it. Most expensive entree I remember seeing was like $8 or $9--so basically a McDonald's with a server.

So, you endorse it as well? Has it always been that good? I remember eating there back in the late 80's early 90's when it was located on the square and dont remember it being that jaw dropping of a steak.

I haven't had the steak at El Camino in a while, but that's because I don't go to Abbeville. I recommend it. As well as eating at Dupuy's.
Black's is open again, but not sure how it is.

I ate at a Cheddars' on the way through Mobile one time and it was a decent meal for a road trip. ANd the service was okay - about what I expect at a place like that. It is a similar to Copelands, J ALexander, etc.

The vodka is still clear - if that answers your question!
