Cranelake is my go-to cheap wine. It does not drink like a $4 bottle. I usually get the cab and chard, but I will try the PS one day.
My standard drinking wine though is Brownstone Pinot Noir $8 and a Cab (can't recall the name at this moment, but it starts with an 'M')

Mark West Pinot can be had for $7.99 (onsale at Walgreens, because I'm a classy MF'er and buy wine at Walgreens).

For the majority of the public, I believe this. For wine aficionados, I doubt this is the case. They have refined their palates to taste all the different notes.

Blazon Pinot Noir, I think it's $10 or $11 at HEB.

Gato Negro $3.99
Still waiting for Wine-in-Grocery-Stores here in TN to see if the Charles Shaw at Trader's is comparable.

You can normally find this for under $10-$11 at Mathernes or Calandros. My recent go to bottle.
They recently had them priced wrong during the Mathernes wine sale, picked up 8 or so for $7.99

I used to buy the Crane Lake Pinot Noir by the case. I still keep a few bottles around. I like it better than just about anything less then ~$40.

I love 14 hands. Usually drink the red blend which is under $10 or the cab which is $12ish.
Yes, I originally bought it because PONIES!

Do you like it because of the wine or the name?
Posted on 2/18/16 at 12:24 pm to mylsuhat
The wine.
I originally picked it up because the name.
Ex:
I picked up dark horse because PONIES! Tried a few. Didn't love them. Back to 14h

Folie a Deux Ménage a Trois red blend deserves a mention at 8.99.
ETA: aspy, I don't buy it for the catchy name, only because it's good and cheap
