this for sure. if you go on a saturday make sure to call ahead or you will wait for 45 minutes in line. not sure how a bbq joint can be so slow. its not like they are starting to cook your food when you order it, its been cooking for hours.

Thanks for the recommendations. Had been wanting to try Goode's. Don't they also run a BBQ place? Worthwhile?

Do you charter?

Houston is a mecca of killer restaurants in every genre. You hit some OK spots, but could have scored huge.

Coming from Slidell I would skip Goode Co seafood. Stick with the food you don't have at home.

La Escondida (mexican) in Missouri City
Guru Burger in Sugar Land
Rainbow Lodge (the heights)

Marks' (Montrose area)

All of these are worth checking out and reviewing

Houston/Katy Area
Taste of Texas (dinner): Had a crab cake appetizer (very good) and a rib-eye (their “Cowboy” steak). Great service and setting but was underwhelmed by the steak. BTW, great salad bar. The steaks I’ve cooked on my BGE were better. Not sure what I’m missing.

Pappas Bar-B-Q (lunch): had a sampler plate. Ribs were great. Beef and pulled pork were good. Jalapeño sausage was weird. Rest was ok.

Five Guys: fried and tastes like Wendy’s. Don’t plan to go back.

Chipotle: Only had a burrito but was very good. Would go again.

Rudy’s BBQ (lunch): Had wet brisket and sausage. Very good. Look forward to going back.

Cheddars (dinner with my kids): Kids liked it a lot (especially the butter croissants). Solid family restaurant.

That's Katy for you....fail. Rudy's is the one legit place you listed. As for BBQ, it's all a matter of preference as almost everyone has a preference.

Burgers in Houston...Christian's Tailgate, Petrol Station or BRC just to start. There are lots of places for a tasty burger.
