Word.

& I think Lafayette needs more hipster in its food and drink spots. It's working its way there... but it definitely could use some more support from its local residents! For example, I regularly drive by Saint Street Inn and see a handful of people there & a few minutes later drive by Texas Roadhouse and see a line out the door. It's comical & very sad.

anyone checked out this place yet?

I really enjoyed it. It's not B&C by any stretch of the imagination... but atmosphere, drinks, and apps were mint. I'm waiting for the initial craziness to settle before making it part of the regular weeknight rotation. Can't wait.

You sound angry against the oil field.

The owner of parish isn’t a hipster. Pops and central are the same family. Not a fan of dat dog or wurst. Saints street is great though.

Notice how I didn't limit the list to owner. As someone pointed out above, rednecks are why shite places like Texas Road House and Outback have lines out of the door while local gems such as Cafe Habana or Saint Street have modest crowds

Sometimes people just want a regular steak at a fair price, and the "hipster places" don't do that. You can get a 16 oz. ribeye with two sides at texas roadhouse for cheaper than every st. street inn entree other than the cheeseburger. There are a whole bunch of ppl who don't want the exotic creations that the hipster places tend to push

I believe these are the "rednecks" that were referred to earlier in this topic

Never got the appeal of this place. Heard how great it was for years, happened to be in Metairie overnight last year and we ate there. Not sure what all the praise is over it, if I never ate it again I would never miss it. Two days later we ate in Chinatown in Chicago, now that was some GREAT food, can't wait to go back.

All amazing places but not everyone wants to spend $100 a meal. None of those are hipster places.
