Was in NOLA this week for the poke and prod world tour at the VA med center…visited Central City BBQ and ribs, fatty brisket and burnt ends were awesome. Location is close to homeless camps but great food for those in NOLA area looking for good cue.

Place has been very hit or miss for some time. Guess you got it on a hit day.

Mark is a good guy & I support them. Has a decent pulled pork sandwich there the other day. It’s a little pricey but what BBQ joint isn’t these days. I don’t mind the location. Lots of parking.

They opened a sister restaurant in Metairie - Las Cruces Tex Mex. Only been once, was hit or miss. The hits were good, nice building with plenty of outdoor space. Hope it ends up being a place you can count on, but who knows.

That the place situated sort of under the overpass at Causeway and Airline?

Seemed like a problematic location when they were building it out.

Same here. Was a fan of it but haven't been since right before the covid shutdowns. When I tried to go after they had very limited hours the times I was in Nola so I gave up on it and went to blue oak several times instead

I'll have to try it out again when in the area

The BBQ secret in that area is Gonzo's in Luling, but he's only open on Fridays.

Holy pastrami ????????
BBQ Friday is going down tomorrow in Luling and some of these smoked Akaushi pastrami beef ribs will be available when we open at 11:30 for those that didn’t preorder. Menu for tomorrow is down below (preorders are closed), grab some friends and come crush a family style meat platter tomorrow!
