Any of you been to this restaurant lately and have any reviews? It's pretty close to my house and I've never been and I hardly ever hear it mentioned.

Pretty solid neighborhood restaurant. Can catch Harry Connick Jr. upstairs from time to time. I believe his dad also sings there several times a year.

The owner, Danny Millan, is super-nice and welcoming.

What's the deal with his sports-bar/restaurant on the corner of W. Harrison and Pontchartrain? Looks like construction has ceased or is at a standstill for some time now

Not sure but what a cluster fu*k between west end to fleur de lis on Harrison!!!! I avoid eating anywhere on that side! Way too congested.

Yeah all that stuff is wedged in there. Backyard scratches the itch when I want a burger so I go every couple of weeks.

I've been a few times, and everything has been pretty solid. Seems like there are some regulars on the weekends in the bar area. Only issue that I've heard is that the lighting is pretty dim later at night.

I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve had at Cava, particularly when they have soft shell crabs or osso bucco.

The new sports bar Danny is building is going to be a clusterfrick with no where to park. That whole area is a mess until you get to the Backyard and Rizzutos area where you can park on the street.

Bunch of people tried to get in there. They are doing a family friendly concept I assume?

Thats the word

I'm assuming he's going to take the money from sale and put it into the other restaurant "Azul" nearby that hasn't made noticeable progress in construction for a while.

I don’t think danny sold anything, he just lost the lease.

He might be in a pickle because Azul is just a concrete shell right now.

I can confirm it is no longer open.

Also, the SoS has a listing for a "Juniors on Harrison". So it looks like the new owners are not wasting any time.

I wish them luck, I would love somewhere thats not Velvet Cactus.

Owner of Overpass Merchant/Curbside is the new tenant so I’m expecting good food with a more family friendly atmosphere.

I'm not going to miss Cava. Never had anything that stood out and the bourbon selection was terrible.

That Azul place will be closed within a year if it even opens. There is no where to park.
