I'm being honest, not that you care, I wouldn't eat that. 99% of our crap I'd eat. I wouldn't eat this.

OK - Not for everyone.

I would have to be walking back from tiger stadium and passing a tailgate where they were giving that away at midnight to eat it.

No way in hell I'm doing that to fried catfish.

Well for one, I have a buzz right now so Im naturally attracted to food in general. But also I like all the ingredients and that is always a prerequisite to me trying a dish. IDK if I would like it but I would certainly try it.

Looks delicious. I can't believe the haters on here are acting like fried catfish is some kind of a delicacy. Catfish is about the most generic fish out there!

Yep. You can make a bisque out of that...you can eat some fried catfish...or you can make an abortion of an abomination ...

I just don't think I'd like fish in general in any kind of soup form.

Pictures are pretty though.

Slap on a ton of mustard, add your seasoning and fry. Eat a fish that tastes almost entirely of mustard.

Ill pass.

Props to md for some creativity.

Yeah, it's just criminal to experiment with such a high end ingredient like catfish

Interesting. Is this a local dish or just something you made up?

i don't think i'd want it as my last meal or anything, but it looks very interesting and tasty.

i'd rather see this post because it is so different than see MD's jambalaya, which i'm sure is good, but pretty generic for the board.

Yeah Im not huge on the mustard dip for fried fish either. Usually you don't need much wetness to fry b/c the fish brings enough to pick up the batter on its own. However, I wont say I dislike the mustard dip. While it isn't my fav, it isn't something I wouldn't eat.

Definitely interesting. And not a knock on MD at all. I've heard of Catfish Stew before this thread, and always have thought I wouldn't be a fan.

I am particular about fish, and I don't generally like those brothy-vegetable style of soups either.

Is there anything left in the kitchen after you cook this?

Fry, then stew? Why not just throw bread crumbs into the stew with the fish?

You sure were busy making epic dishes on your F&D board hiatus!!

I usually stick up for him.

Can't wait for r2r to get in here.

Then I'll have to pick sides.
