Upstairs area was just right. Food was solid. I really love the neighborhood atmosphere. Feels Nola specific.
My pregnant wife, who isn’t into the food scene like me, wanted a chicken sandwich, otherwise we would have gone to Bevi.
We had a great day.

How busy does Katie’s get for lunch on Saturday? We are doing the Mardi Gras in the oaks thing and have a 1:15-1:45 time slot. If we get to Katie’s for noon will we have a wait?
Should we get there for a little earlier?

Call to see. With the new limited seating many restaurants that weren't doing them are now.

I see in their website it says to call for reservations. I’ll call them at 11am. Thanks

Young kids seems to be a lot of the makeup of the tour, at least what it looks like on TV.

Friend,
One of my favorite meals is getting a muffuletta from Central Grocery and walking to City Park, which is only about three miles away, or a 45 minute walk for me. It is a beautiful walk, getting to see the French version of St. Charles Avenue, including the Degas House. City Park is America’s greatest public city park and has infinite places in which to picnic.
City Park is so central to the city that really your options are quite expanse. You could do any of the Bucktown restaurants, of which Station 6 is currently the best, and be on the northern edge of the park in five minutes.
Any of the MidCity, Gentilly or Metairie restaurants are not far either. If wanting convenience there is a Brennan’s restaurant inside NOMA which is good for families. It is typical but elevated museum fare including soups, salads, sandwiches and pizzas. That might be a lot of fun for a family and it puts you in the heart of the park.
I hope you will take many pictures and then share them in narrative form with us soon.
Yours,
TulaneLSU
