So how did the researchers achieve a more efficient and quicker boiling process? By adding a series of microscale cavities, or dents, to a surface, controlling the way bubbles form on that surface. This kept the bubbles effectively pinned to the locations of the dents and prevented them from spreading out into a heat-resisting film.

But if you watch the pot, does it boil?

So a golf ball like bottomed crawfish pot? I've got plenty of dents and dings in my old aluminum pot. I'm way ahead of the game

I don’t know why it’s a race to boil water faster. Standing around the pot with a beer and a few friends is the best part.

Doesn't stop me from standing around and drinking and visiting. I just move to the sitting and visiting part sooner.

I want to know......
Should the "dents" be made from the bottom of the pot or do you need to pound the the dents from the inside of the pot?

Agreed. I have never wanted my boil to be shorter. Now two bags is a pretty big cooking for me but I enjoy the actual cook.
