Cajun Bayou Broiler

A friend of a friend is moving and getting rid of it.

Has anyone ever used one? I can have it for free if I pick it up this weekend.

Thanks for any input!

Have friends that own those. It gets screaming hot and cooks a great steak. It's not the most versatile cooking apparatus, but if you're cooking something hot and fast it's great.

Just get it regardless. Try it and if you don't like it, pass it along. I never turn free down.

I love my Cajun Fryer made products.

If you don't want it I'll take it!

I have one. I've done steaks, chops, burgers, and want to try oysters.

Let it preheat enough so the fire bricks get good and hot. You can't get those high temps just lighting it and go.

If you put stoneware plates, or fajita pans on top it, they will get pretty damn hot. Add a tablespoon of ghee to them, then plate the steaks. They will sizzle for five minutes like Ruth Fertel intended.
