I am thinking of going in 25% on a cow. How much meat should I expect to get from this and what is a good price?

A cow produces about 500 pounds of beef, so around 125.

We bought half a cow several years ago...only reason that I know.

750-900 lbs hanging weight for a whole cow, $3-4/lb hanging weight. Typically loss about 25-30% once it's processed.

Most folks we know turn them into steers early. How to you handle the funky taste?

Usually buy half at the beginning of year. Have never had a problem with cuts or quality. This could be more of the company you use.

Company I use has list so you can chose what cuts you want, how thick you want steaks, and how much in the packages of ground beef.
