I agree. This is the only thing I go to BK for anymore. Lettuce, mayo, cut in half. I want one a few times a year.

Would Popeyes have been a better response?

Getting back to on topic. When you get a fresh one, the BK Tendercrisp is damn good (do they even call them that anymore?). But it's basically a crapshoot if you're gonna get a good one.

Never had it. Do they make one?

I was confused by the whole Tendercrisp nomenclature. The original is the old one...was Tendercrisp different?

The quality crapshoot seems to tend to vary by location. Some do suck, but when you hit one with a fresh bun, hot chicken, lot of mayo, actual green lettuce...good eatin'.

My husband JUST said this very thing. Says that is the best chicken sandwich ever made. Hard to disagree, "nugget patty" notwithstanding.

I probably have had fast food 4 times in the last two years. One of the times was BK. A friend had the two for one whopper. Two Whoppers came to 5.50 and he added a large fry and the bill came to 8.40+. Complete ripoff and the Whopper sucked.

And yes Wendy's is way better than Burger Dump.... Hamburgers and Chicken sandwiches..

I remember growing up in lake Charles and one summer BK had a special and it was 2 burgers and 2 fries for $2.

I think I ate there 5 days a week. My 12 year old metabolism loved it

If you're in Louisiana, you should be used to it. I've never seen a place that eats so much damn mayo. Breakfast poboy? Mayo and butter. Meatball poboy? 50/50 mayo to marinara. It's fricking insane. I'm surprised it isn't in cups of coffee.

Yesterday, I was at Subway, and I witnessed a guy request an insane amount of mayo on his sandwich.

WTF is a breakfast poboy?

And isn't AL the state known for their shitty mayo-based BBQ sauce?

A breakfast poboy is basically a breakfast sandwich on Nola style French bread, with butter and mayo. There were some great ones in Metairie. But I'd get mine dry.

Yeah, there's a white BBQ sauce around North Alabama that's famous. But I'm in the gulf coast, and nobody eats it here. Give me a tomato/vinegar blend.

Nah the original is the best. Simple and delicious. BK once, when I was a kid, did a Bullseye BBQ burger on the same bun- two patties, four strips of bacon, cheddar cheese and bbq sauce. It was my second go-to if I didn’t want the chicken.

Stopped eating BK when they decided to ruin their fries.

Speaking of yum, does anyone remember the “yumbo” sandwich at Burger King in the ‘70s? I know they brought it back recently, but it wasn’t nearly the same. I don’t get excited over ham and cheese sandwiches - especially at a fast food burger joint - but the yumbo was amazingly good back in the day.
