Why does the original BK chicken sandwich always have the worst lettuce of any fast food sandwich?

I'm not knocking the sandwich, cause I grew up eating the hell out of the BK chicken, but for some odd reason, it seems like they hold the worst part of the head of lettuce for the chicken sandwich. And always have.

BK used to be awesome like around the early/mid 90's era.

Worst "chicken", too. They sent me a BOGO coupon, so I had one a year or two ago after a lapse of several decades. I didn't finish the first one and threw the second one away without opening it.

ISTR eating them as a teen. I don't know if they used to be a lot better or my palate grew out of them.

Agreed, that was their prime. You could also get a Whopper for 99 cents around this time as well. It was a great deal.

Yup. We lived way out in the country when I was a kid and I remember my grandfather buying those things by the sack ful and putting them in the freezer. I guess I am not suprised that all you had to do was microwave them and they came out great. (Of course he ordered them plain)

I'm boycotting BK until they bring back the Italian chicken, and I'm calling on all of you to do the same.

I feel like I've been boycotting BK without knowing I've been boycotting BK. Never really eat there anymore. Did a lot growing up. Dad loved the whopper and BK was the spot in the 90's. Not anymore...

I enjoy BK once in a while. It's the damn workers that keep me from going more often.

The sandwich is delicious. Period.

But, I'll admit -- it's the oddest combination of extremely hot greasy chicken, coated with 2-3 layers of whatever the extreme opposite of non-fat mayonnaise would be, plus some seriously wilted pieces of lettuce.

BK in my hometown was great. One down the street and a few guys I went to school with worked there. We would order a cheeseburger and a drink and leave with a sack with 3 double cheeseburgers, fries, rings, and a Hershey's pie. And the one near the high school was great too. Either grabbing biscuits on the way to school or leaving to get lunch. We technically weren't supposed to leave but our football strength coach never said anything if we got him a large fries.

upvote, best fast food sammich that ever was.

ETA: wanted to downvote because the title made me think it was back.
