Budweiser Project - Please give your opinions!

We are doing a project for our Marketing Class and we need your opinions!
We were wondering what your general feelings are toward Budweiser as a brand and their lastest merger with InBev, a major brewing corporation in Belgium.
Here's the link to a website you might find useful if you're unaware of the merger.

Thanks for your help!

i wasn't too thrilled when they mergered. the outlook i had on it was that they are one of the oldest american companies still out there. and they sold to a foreign company. to me, it would be the same as if Harley Davidson sold out to Honda. it just didn't feel right. so i started drinking coors for a while. until a friend of mine that's a truck driver for budweiser, got pissed about it and told me nothing really had changed. so i'm back to Bud.

My official take: budweiser is terrible shite that only NASCAR fans could love
I don't care who they are owned by.

Budweiser is delicious. Unfortunately it was the last "American" big brewery and now it is owned by a Brazilian company. I don't generally trust anyone who speaks Portuguese.

Inbev is not Brazilian and Budweiser has always been garbage no matter who has owned it.

I didn't like the merger b/c I always thought of AB as a truly "American-born" company, and they have always really tried to sell that point in their advertising. Their reputation has taken a slight hit in my opinion, but as long as they keep good on their promise not to close American breweries, it's not a huge deal to me. But they do feel like much less of an "American" beer to me now though.
That said, the merger will have no effect on the amount of their products I purchase, which is not a great deal anyway (coors light > bud light)

Budweiser (not Bud Light) is the best American domestic beer. What kind of beer do you drink?

Budweiser being sold to a foreign company is just another sign that the we are heading to a world economy. Budweiser was sold this summer in which the dollar was VERY weak and InBev got a steal of deal (In there minds) b/c of the strong Euro. Now Inbev has new challenges ahead with the weakening global economy. They are already talking about cutting costs. I believe that InBev inherited a great company and should not change much to the brand b/c of its former strength. Americans will keep buying BUD as long as its the quality doesn't change. Challenges will also come in the future, with new ad campaigns that keeps the profit margin up, but this will not be easy b/c foreign company head will be making the decisions on what they think Americans what to see in advertisements

Not true. Boston Beer Company (aka Sam Adams) is now the largest American-owned brewery and it is by no means a small operation.

My go to beer is Fat Tire, but I drink a pretty big variety.
ETA: Yuengling is the closest thing to Bud that I drink.

Bud is crap. Haven't had one since the 60s.

All the people on this board saying Bud is crap need to check national sales figures for AB. They still own the beer market nationwide. All those people can't all be wrong.

You people saying Bud is crap are complete idiots. Michelob Ultra, which is the #4 brand for Anheuser Busch, is almost as big and as poplular on its own than Miller Lite. Bud Light and Bud are on a completely seperate level.

I drink a lot of Budweiser when tailgating and such, so I'm not going to say Bud is bad.
But just because they sell a lot of beer doesn't mean it's great beer. McDonald's sells a lot of hamburgers, but that doesn't make them good.

Being popular doesn't make it good.

Basically I agree with what most others are saying...I wasn't all that happy about them selling out to a Belgian company when it happened this summer because they were one of the last large American beer companies but now I'm over it because honestly, I don't drink their products unless they are free anyway.

I like Budweiser, the sale bummed me out some because I think of them as the quintessential american beer. That said, it didn't persuade me to start drinking another go to beer.

To acutally answer the question, the merger has not changed my opinion of Budweiser at all. I still see it as a cheap, convenient option that is readily available and consistent, and enjoyable at times.
