Where can I get a good breakfast taco around town? I'm still having breakfast taco withdrawals from when Fuzzy's shut down.

2nd for Kolache Kitchen. We go to the one on Jefferson and the food is consistently good.

Birria & Barbacoa de Chivo Los Compadre's
(225) 389-6712

LINK

Get the Birria special for something like $15. Use to be 12-13.

I wouldn't really consider those breakfast tacos.

+1 for Kolache Kitchen

I think they are closed this week. OP asked for breakfast tacos. I didn't know they did that.

I love posts like his. Guy asks for breakfast tacos but I am going to suggest something completely different.

Another vote for Kolache Kitchen. Their egg and chorizo is delicious. Ask for extra salsa.

My second favorite worthless reply behind “Why don’t you make your own at home?”

The Rock Paper Taco ones are definitely legit

Blue Rose Cafe. Not sure if it is a breakfast soft taco or more of a breakfast burrito, but it’s delicious.

They may not have breakfast tacos listed on the menu, but that place looks awesome. It's hard not to love birria, any time of the day or night.

I like Kolache Kitchen breakfast tacos so much I sent their website contact email begging for them to open one in Lafayette. Probably the fattest thing I've ever done.

It’s surprisingly easy to make some damn good breakfast tacos at home. Make a big batch and freeze them. Pull out the night before and breakfast is ready to be quickly warmed up. I got some ground chorizo from Ideal market and made some killer breakfast burritos. Still have a dozen or so in the freezer. Make sure to have some quality salsa on hand, that’s a must for me. Picante is not going to cut it but there are some decent store brands out there (usually in the refrigerated section)

Edit: I’m not saying this to be an a-hole, I already suggested Kolache Kitchen. I’m only bringing it up because someone mentioned wishing they had a Kolache Kitchen where they live. You can make very close quality tacos at home if you need to.

So how do you make and freeze your breakfast tacos? I’ve always done a mix of chorizo and eggs with some cheese and salsa on a thin flour tortilla

Pretty much the same. I brown my chorizo and remove from pan then I added in a good bit of finely chopped onions and mushrooms to the leftover grease and cook down. When that’s done I dump it in the bowl with the cooked chorizo. Scramble my eggs and dump in the the bowl with the chorizo, onions and mushrooms. I like to buy some smaller burritos Albertsons sells that come in a few different flavors. I like the Cayenne. Wrap in foil and put in a ziploc bag in the freezer.
