I have only seen/ate fried corn on the cob once twenty plus years ago in Arkansas. That is seriously good, and makes me wonder why no one thinks of it, especially as a side at a seafood type of place..

Not my friends, but those are fuzzy times. I'm talking 92-95 or so.

His "old" cook did some serious damage to peoples waist lines. I haven't seen him in years, but hear that he is still kicking. He still owns the place and makes a small killing annually off the folks that run it now.

Thats the years I'm talking about too, probably all the way to 98 or so though...Oh well, I guarentee my friends knew your friends, and we've probably sat at the same bar drinking free beer at some point....

I run into him at Pocorello's occasionally. Still the same, I always ask him when he's bringing back that food, but those old cooks he had at the Library can probably never be duplicated.

Lots of places mentioned bring back good memories. Some of my favorites that come to mind:

Sizzler in Cortana for the AYCE Shrimp
Duffs Smorgasboard near College
Moffalattos (sp) near Government/Florida
Panchos in Broadmoor
Tillys restaurant after 2AM
Waffle House near 10 flags inn after 3AM
Mirror Steak House (1st Prom date)
Pastime Lounge (still there) good pizza

I am an Electrician and I wired this building. It originally was called "The Oak Tree Restaurant" and was owned by the Landry's of Baum's Pastries..........I thnk they had a $1 million insurance policy on the "Oak Tree".......
