seem to prefer lower proof stuff. If you like the flavors of this, but can't get past the heat
poor wording on my part. I do enjoy higher proofs (Bakers for instance). It's the flavor of this particular burn that reminded me of that bad ET night many years ago. Really I only got that hit when I took a particularly large swallow to finish it off, so it was more like a shot than a sip.
Overall I did enjoy it. I do think the splash of water will open it up, and I look forward to trying it tonight.

I live near Acquistipace in Mandeville, so that's my go to shopping stop.

Yea, I think that's gonna make a big difference for you. And yea I always forget that Bakers is a slightly higher proof....it never drinks like it. For sure less heat than the 1920, but the goal of the 1920 is to have some of that heat come through

Sorry, Old Forester. And yea, you're a good hour away from the shop I'm talking about, but AQ has some solid stuff....stopped by for the first time this weekend

That Pinhook Rye they sell is killer. Adam (the owner) turned me on to it about a year or so ago, and it's my go to rye now. It's a great store with a knowledgeable staff, which is very good for amateurs like myself

Does anyone know where you still Score a bottle of the K&B brand bourbon? I remember it from years ago. I believe it was produced by one of the big boys in Kentucky and carried in the K&B stores with heir label. It was incredibly good.
