Going for 3-4 days in July and looking for a nice place to go out to eat with the wife(no pics). I dont have any particular type of food in mind, just want an upscale place thats fun with a good selection of drinks.

Also, If you have any hiking recommendations (as there are a lot of different routes) that would also be appreciated.

I stopped for a day to see a friend on my way out to Yellowstone and we ate at The Buff. Really good breakfast/brunch. Think they had like 50 cent or 1$ mimosas too.

Frasca

ETA I would go up to Rocky Mt National for hiking. A couple of my favorites were Bear Lake up to Loch Vail, and Bear lake to Emerald lake and Dream Lake. At the south end towards Allens Park you could hike up Wild Basin to Ouzel Falls. More agressive hikes would be Longs Peak or up to Flattop Mt. Those would require a start before daylight to get off the Mt by afternoon (recommended due to lighting)

Three places I'd consider a must stop:

1. The Flagstaff House. LINK

It's a white table cloth place and fairly expensive. The food was very good (not extraordinary, but good). It's really the venue. The views are amazing. Get there early and have some drinks out on the patio.

2. The Sink. LINK

This is your typical college spot. Burgers, pizza, writing on the walls, great craft beer on draft.

3. The Buff. LINK

This is a breakfast/brunch place. Prepare to wait. In fact, I'd call ahead if you can. Get the White Buffalo iced coffee.

There are places to go on Pearl St, but nothing really remarkable. Boulder is a super nice place, but the people suck. Flat Irons is a great place to hike.

I was minding my own business in downtown Boulder a couple of weekends ago, and as I was taking a picture of the mountains, some dude says to me, "You assholes and your extravagant lifestyles suck!"

I asked him if he had any upscale restaurant suggestions, he gave me the finger as he walked off.

Nice.

Boulder is 26 square miles surrounded by reality. Not really, Nederland isn’t reality either.

The Kitchen is good.

I’ve had breakfast at The Buff and enjoyed it. My kids loved it.

Avery’s new brewpub is a good spot for a beer and casual food. It’s a really neat space with a bunch of tap room only beers.

Backcountry Pizza is good and has one of the best tap list anywhere.

This was basically my interaction with every person we met in Boulder except for the lady that ran the hotel. It was the New York stereotype in full effect: rude, pretentious, arrogant assholes. If ever there was a place that the people have ruined, it's Boulder, Co.

Also, I'd second the Avery Brewery recommendation. It's well outside of Boulder, but well worth the stop if you are a beer fan.

Going there in fall ‘19 for a football game. Sounds like it’s going to be a pure joy.

I would look for concerts at red rocks. If that is an option for you while you are there, it is certainly an experience that is worth your time and money.
