Boudreaux's Sunday brunch

Anyone been to Boudreaux's on Government for Sunday brunch? They are a catering company but just started doing brunch three weeks ago. We went this morning for the first time and were majorly impressed. $17 a person and every single thing was great. Probably the best gumbo I have ever had not made at home from scratch. Great grit bar with awesome choices: beef bourguignon, creamy spicy shrimp and chicken tikka massala. Omelette station and tons of other hot options. Great dessert choices as well, including pecan pie. They offer bottomless mimosas, bloody marys and screwdrivers for only $10 extra. Check it out next week, you will not find a better brunch in Baton Rouge, I promise.

Only on Sunday's? I'd love to hit it on a Saturday morning to kickstart game day

They said only Sundays for now but they are considering other days and a menu to order from. I think Sundays work well for them because no one is using their space on that day. I assume the space is often rented out on Saturdays for weddings and other events.

Are you the manager or one of the owners?

Since I just ate there for the first time this past weekend I am pretty sure that hardly makes me a manager, owner or server. That line gets so old on this board any time someone has anything good to say about a place. My posting history will also tell you that I am a teacher, the other favorite profession on this board.

Saw this thread this morning, and decided to give it a shot. We had a great experience. It's $20 per person now, but still worth it. They had an omelette station and a crepe station, each had plenty of toppings/ingredients to choose from. There was a grits bowl with a selection of toppings (shrimp, grillades, and chicken tikka masala...my favorite was to mix the shrimp sauce with tikka masala sauce), there was a carving station with sirloin and turkey (each was on the dry side, but again several sauces to choose from as toppings...horseradish sauce, au jus, cranberry sauce, and something else). They had regular breakfast items...sausage, eggs, potatoes, biscuits and gravy. Plenty of stuff for kids, plenty of dessert options, and a few other items. They also had a great gumbo. Service was great, and everything tasted good. Only items that were missing that would have been cool were bacon and poached eggs. Overall, would totally recommend for a brunch option.

Brunch with no bacon?

Great post. Might hit this when we're in town for the Gator massacre. Our flight is not until late on Sunday.
