These must have zero flavor.

I always do the opposite. I boil and then after a min immediately throw them into a cool bath of seasoned water to soak.

This way works for me every time. I buy the premeasured packs of LA boil sold at HEB, it is meant for 4 pound shrimp or crawfish. Just bring the water and seasoning to a boil, dump the shrimp in and bring back to a boil, as soon as it comes back to a boil, cut the fire and let them soak for 30 min, done, easy easy Peal after I ice them down with an ice bag.

There is no need to bring your water to a “boil”. Shrimp easily cook around 180-190 degrees or less. The two main reasons shrimp don’t peel well, are over boiling or the supplier freezing them and selling you not so fresh shrimp.

Sort of the same . I would have a tray of ice ready right after I boiling and then have a homemade season packet ready to generously sprinkle.
