Meaning you want it to go to your phone?

Or do you just want something that has a base and receiver?

Thermoworks Smoke is one of the best(base and receiver 300 ft range). But you would need to buy the wifi gateway if you want it to your phone and go anywhere with it.

Bluetooth only you could go with the Weber iGrill.

ETA: The Smoke has 2 probes. Grill temp, meat temp.
iGrill has a 4 probe capacity.

Check out the thermoworks smoke. Has a wireless remote but you can add the gateway and make it Bluetooth.

I like the bluetooth, but the iGrill appears to have a cord......

I guess I could just leave it inside the smoker?

or would I just run it through door and put instrument on top of smoker?

Get the Maverick, it's not BT, it has a receiving unit and the range is a lot better than BT.

I definitely want a setup that I can leave inside the electric smoker with door closed completely for hours

I don't think a setup exist that does not have a wire from the probe to the base unit. If it does I have not seen it.

You can run the wire through your exhaust vent, you could drill a really small hole in the smoker or just close the wire in the door/lid.

ETA: All of the products described above have a base unit with wires to the probes, and a receiver that you can walk around your house with to monitor temps.

Well, it looks like it does exist.

https://meater.com/

I have no idea if it works or if it's accurate.

I recommend just gettin a ThermoWorks product or the Weber iGrill.

My mom bought one of these about a year ago. First time we actually used it was on the Thanksgiving turkey in the stand alone roaster.

Meater said it was at 160 degrees 90 minutes in (15 lbs turkey that should be impossible). We tested it with a couple other thermometers and it was right. We had a 15 lb. turkey cooked in under 2 hours

All this to say in limited use it has been deemed accurate

Been eyeballing this one. Like the extra probes, the fact you can plug it in and not run batteries if you want, and the built in Wifi.

Someone just bought me the Meater (plus version I think) as a gift. Looks like this version basically relays the signal to give it further reach, which was the primary complaint in the original version.

I'll report back if it works well.

Have been using a Smoke previously, which works great but would obviously be a bit more cumbersome than the Meater (assuming the latter works).

I think I have the original Meater, and I just leave my ipad near the cooking device. 30 feet is plenty if you are hanging out, and you can still have your phone on you walking away.

150 feet would obviously be way better of course

I got this one off amazon.

Woot puts it on sale for like $39 with the 6 probes. Works great for me. I setup the probes in the meat and then just leave a probe in the smoker. Then I set temperature alarms to let me know whats going on.
