Who here likes blue cheese on their steak?

I started as a purist adding only salt and pepper.

I’ve since moved to adding fresh minced garlic and some fresh rosemary.

Like to finish with blue cheese on top.

I love it. I make a blue cheese butter sometimes for steaks. Delicious.

I’ve had a bleu cheese reduction on hamburgers plenty of times so I can’t imagine it wouldn’t work with a steak.

I used to hate blue cheese but I’ve been slowly eating it more and more. Sometimes I just have a craving for a blue cheese burger. It does seem like the cheese would over power a nicely cooked steak but I’d try it

Everytime I get blue cheese ontop a steak I get heartburn.

I love it on burgers but not on steak. I’d eat it but prefer a steak without.

Blue cheese on a steak ruins it for me. If I wanted melted blue cheese, I’ll eat it alone and not put it on top of a nice well cooked steak.

Blue cheese butter on a filet is pretty tasty.

A little goes a long way. Just a dab of blue cheese butter on a bite is plenty for me and compliments the meat flavor.

I like blue cheese on a burger also from time to time especially if bacon is involved.

It has its place. Love a strictly salt and pepper seasoned steak, but mixing up steak with garlic butter, blue cheese, or crab meat is something everybody should try.

Try something outside of your comfort zone.

If I'm having a steak salad, I like blue cheese crumbles, but I've never had it as an accompaniment otherwise. Sounds good.

Theo's has a Black and Bleu pizza (Beef and Bleu cheese)... very good. Back in the early 90's I was a kitchen manager at bar and I started a hamburger with bleu cheese. When it was cooking someone asked "did someone take their shoes off?"

Try this. Chop up a bite of fresh parsley and garlic and combine. Heat up a few tablespoons of clarified butter.

As soon as you plate your steak, place a tablespoon of the parsley garlic mixture on top of steak and spoon some of your smoking hot clarified butter on top of the steak.

Gorgonzola reduced with a little heavy whipping cream on a steak is pretty killer.

You are making a good board sauce

I’m an Adam Perry Lang and I cook this standing rib a lot and make his board sauce. They do very well on a nice steak.

And I like a good bleu cheese butter as well as a good horseradish sauce with a steak. What I don’t care for is crabmeat on a steak.

That's one I've never understood. People just like the sound of it and don't realize it's a huge up charge with basically no flavor (assuming you're eating out)

Boiled crabmeat could be good I guess, but out of principle I don't leave a crab boil until everything is eaten
