Just bought a 36" Blackstone.
Bought the small accessory pack with the 2 spatulas and scraper. For all you long time owners, what are your have to have accessories?
Apologize ahead of time if this has been posted recently. Did a search but nothing came up.

I bought a third party bag of accessories off of Amazon, and out of it I use the 2 spatulas, scraper, and 2 squirt bottles for oil and water. I also bought a steam dome that's good for vegetables and melting cheese on burgers.

I already had a couple of good sized spatulas and I've been using them, but thinking of getting one of the kits with a scraper. Most of what I cook on there doesn't create much of a mess, but a larger flat scraper would make cleanup easier. Mine is one of the travel/tabletop versions with a side burner, and it has a lid that closes so I don't find myself needing a bowl for steaming.

A dome to put over food... squirt some water underneath to steam your food.

You’re probably going to want one of these to put out the fire in your onion volcano

So Im reading Blackstone recommends their "special" oil for seasoning. I'm sure they are trying to sell me something. What do any of you recommend for initial seasoning?

Get some silicone egg circles that hole the egg in sandwich size shape.
Great for breakfast sandwiches or to put on burgers.

If you can find a wok lid at an asian store it works great and is big enough to cover a good bit of surface area.

#1 is the cover, unless you're keeping it indoors

Second that. I didn't get that many and I use them a few times before tossing, but way easier cleanup than the standard grease trap.

Nicely done. When I get mine in place, I'm going to ditch the trap all together. It will be about 15 feet off the ground on my deck, and it can all fall down to the ground as far as I care. I just need to get around to building a shelf for it, and then a cover. Since it is smaller, I've just got it on a table I built on the covered deck for now.

if it's going to be stationary, it won't matter but, i found out the hard way that the only thing keeping the legs from folding is the lower table held in place by just 2 thumb screws. those tend to vibrate loose when you roll the thing around. one of the thumb screws backed completely out and the griddle took a nose dive.

Critters could be an issue.

I currently use a gas grill and am not a chef by any means. Just burgers, chicken, steaks on the grill.
Would you ditch the gas grill and use blackstone exclusively or is there any benefit to keeping both if you aren't that into cooking?

I would keep both. The gas grill can be used for grilling and searing on an open flame. Use the Blackstone for anything else you would normally cook on the stove.

This is similar to the one I have. It came with a fryer basket that I've never really used. I think I've mentioned it before, but I had a new deck built back in 2020, and had a large landing at the top of the stairs that is about 5'x8'. There is a 2"x8" board at the top all the way around as a top rail, and I'm going to build a platform for it to sit on, and build a wooden cover to sit over it, and mount a spot outside the rails for the propane tank. It will be stationary there. But I can always disconnect the gas hose and carry it somewhere else.
