I know it's been mentioned here before...half off seafood from 5-9 on Wednesdays. Is this because they're low on business and therefore would be a comfortable place to eat at or will they be mobbed? I've been meaning to check it out. I'm not big into crowds.

Wednesdays are usually busy but not crazy. We go during oyster season and they have some beauts on the half shell.

No comment about the current status but in what seems like another life, I sold a good chunk of the furnishings for the Abbeville Library(pre-Katrina) and during that time, Black's became very dear to me. I really did appreciate their solid food and thought it better than most places with a similar menu from NOLA to Lafayette. I'd love to hear they're still thriving...

I'm dying to get to Abbeville and eat crabs at Richards. My folks were saying they sell jumbo boiled (blue) crabs for $18 per crab. Says they sell out super fast.

Damn, $216/dozen. I thought LT's was crazy at $12/crab.

I've never even seen a blue crab that would be worth that kind of money, but i'd like to pick one for sure. I'd assume you'd get a pile out of it.
