Blackberry jalepeno reduction sauce--UPDATED with Pics

I have some fresh blackberries and fresh jalepenos. Thought I'd sear some duck breasts and top with a reduction sauce. Should I use blackberry preserves or is there something I can do with the fresh blackberries? Need a basic recipe. TIA

I think you could make a blackberry sauce similar to the one below and add some pureed roasted jalapenos to it. You can probably reduce the sugar if you prefer less sweetness, but the hot and sweet sounds very tasty to me.

You could also make a blackberry wine reduction or a blackberry balsamic reduction.

yeah, I'm thinking red wine with muddled blackberries, diced roasted jalepenos, sugar and finish with butter and cornstarch if necessary.

That sounds really tasty to me. I think you could work with that recipe or look at some blackberry wine reduction recipes and adjust to what you have in mind. Good flavors.

This is what I did and it came out great. I know my kitchen sucks but I'm selling the house before long and I'm not upgrading it.
1 jalapeno
1/2 pint of blackberries
1 cup Zinfandel
3 TBSP brown sugar
1/2 stick butter
salt an pepper to taste
Roasted the jalapeno
Muddled the blackberries in with the brown sugar
added wine and diced jalapenos
Let reduce to about half and strained. added 1/2 stick of butter and salt and pepper to taste.
Scored, salt and peppered the duck breasts
seared in black iron and finished in the oven
Sliced and topped with the blackberry jalapeno reduction. It was delicious although my duck was just a bit over for my taste.

Sounds like some ingredients for a fancy cocktail. El Big Bad in Houston does it up right.

Why are your pics so out of focus?

Nice. I've got a shitton of dew berries around my house and may do something similar.

Them little seeds didn't create a problem did they?

No, I strained the liquid.

Did you like the desired body of the sauce or would you use any cornstarch next time?

It looks great. Definitely will try next time I get duck breast. The body looks to be a little too thin for my taste. I would probably add corn starch to thicken.
