We've had BJ's in California ---- I think they started in LA, CA...love 'em! They are always so busy here and service is really good. Maybe they will get it together there.

My experience:
Beer samplers were good.
Food was good, but took forever.
Service was poor...the waitress was obviously new.
Good atmosphere
2.5 out of 4 stars

okay, went last night with the girlfriend.
went around 7ish and waited for a table for about 5 minutes.
ordered a nitwit beer (which they actually had this time) and a spinach dip. beer comes out about 5 minutes later, and the dip.
dip was excellent, then they come back to take our order about 5 minutes after we finished the dip.
ordered two pizza's, came out in about 15 minutes and had another beer while I waited.
pizza was the shite. it was very very good.
got our check after that and the waiter was very smart and knowledgable about the menu.
overall: 9/10
they couldve taken our order the same time as when they were dropping off the dip, but they looked busy.
food was great, staff was friendly, and the beer was tasty.
i'll def go back soon.
I think maybe they are starting to turn it around.

they looked like they brought in some older waitresses/managers.
a 30ish white female was directing where things should be going.
maybe theyll learn?

Well I tried it for the first time yesterday during the monsoon. Sat at the bar, beer was great. The Blonde, Hefe, Red, Nitwit were great. Ordered a small pizza. 15 minutes later the bartender asked if I got my pizza yet. I did not, although I wasn't really expecting it that quick. I was informed it was given to someone else. They then brought me a couple slices of cheese pizza to snack on while mine was being made. 10 minutes later they brought me a medium instead of a small. Pizza was the best around the BR area. All in all, not a bad trip.

I went to one in H-town over the weekend and had a pleasant experience. Good service, they had the nitwit, good calzone.
Definitely better service than the one in BR.

I went yesterday during the monsoon as well. We had to wait about 10 minutes but they brought us out slices of cheese pizza while we waited. Waitress was very nice and very knowledgeable about the beer. I had the hefeweisen and the gf had the nit wit. We both liked them but I prefer hoegharden. We got he santa fe spring rolls and they were like crack. I could have just sat and ate those things all day long. We got 2 mini pizzas. spinach and artichoke and a make your own w/ onions, peppers, pepperoni, meatball. the spinach pizza was on but the other one was excellent. my gf loved the whole stewed tomatoes that were in the sauce. Overall a very good experience and will definitely go back.

Did everybody from TD go yesterday? We went for dinner yesterday as well.
I'm actually eating leftovers now, so I guess I'll write a review.
We went a little before 7 with a party of 6. Five adults and 1 child (4 years old).
The hostess was kinda dumb. We walked in and the six of us were the only ones in the waiting area. She asked us how many and we said 6. She looked around and there was a large booth being cleared. She then asked, how many kid's menus. My wife and I looked at each other like "did she really just ask that" and didn't give her an answer. I seriously thought that's not what she said but she asked us again, and we told her just 1.
That was really the only bad part about the experience. We waited a few minutes for our table. I did notice that there were three very large parties already seated. Two having about 20-25 people and a smaller group of about 12 hot girls.
I worked in a kitchen for 5 years and I know how large parties can slow a kitchen down, so I prepared myself to be patient.
Our server, who was very shy, greeted us within a few minutes. She took our drink orders (no beer this time, with the in laws) and offered us appetizer choices. I really like this in a server. I know they are trained that way, but most servers just ask if you want appetizers.
We ordered the avocado egg rolls. She was back with our drinks within a few minutes and took our entree order.
4 of us ordered burgers. I had the grilled burger melt. I told her I like my burgers medium. My wife had the angus roast beef dip and our daughter had a grilled cheese sandwich.
Egg rolls came out within 5 minutes and were consumed within 1 minute. They were really good. I was hesitant about the amount of avocado, but it was just right.
Food came about less than 10 minutes later. The biggest things I was looking for was my burger being cooked correctly and the fries to be fresh. Everything was perfect. My daughter was happy that they served smiley face french fries.
I tried my wife's french dip and it was really good. They horseradish sauce had a great flavor to it (don't know if it was made fresh or bottled) and the aus jus (sp?) was good.
We didn't have any room for dessert, so I can't comment on that. The bill was right at 70 for the six of us, which wasn't bad at all.
I give it an 8/10. I'll go back again. I really want to try some of their beer and the pizza looked tasty.

service is really good at the bar .. every once in a while, the bartenders will get a little overwhelmed and you will wonder if you are invisible .. but the pizza is really good and the beer is too .. i am a jeremiah red drinker, but have tried the nitwit and the nutty blonde and have liked both ..

I had serious doubts about this one based on the description, but I like it as well.

you definitely have to try both .. i think these people have been listening to their customers -- which is refreshing in the restaurant biz -- and are getting their act together ...

We went Sat Night and the service was much better. Hubby had the fish & Chips (so-so), I had the roast beef dip which was tasty. Also Had two pitures of the red.
Over all the service is improving

the last two times i have been to one in Texas they have completely comped the meal because it took so long - not free apps, but the whole meal!!
food is mediocre, beer and bar good enough

i guess you gotta give them kudos for that .. did you have to ask for some compensation, or did they offer it ?
