This is the biggest problem...people can deal with green servers as long as they're somewhat on top of things. At any given time you can look over and see 4-5 of the wait staff just standing around chatting. It's amazing the managers haven't realized this and told them to cut it out. But I've seen situations like this before and usually it's because the managers are trying to be cool and want to be friends with the staff instead of doing their job.

Ate there last night with the wife and kid and the service was fine. Maybe I lucked out. The Piranha Pale Ale is really good.

i can tolerate anyone green that i can see is at least working hard and trying .. mistakes out of inexperience i can handle .. out of laziness .. not ..

Went there for lunch yesterday, for the first time. We were seated promptly and given menus. Our drink orders were slow (two beers and a margarita) When we were finally asked for our orders they were out of two of the items we wanted. When we asked for something else, they were out of that too. So finally, you say “tell me what you have and I’ll go from there. The service left a lot to be desired. The food we ordered was good. I thought this place had just opened, and that would explain why they were out of so many items, however it seems they have been open for a while. I would be willing to try again but I’ll call first and make sure the menu items are in stock. Seems like it would be a great place if they could get some food and service.

went there and got lunch on the house b/c it took so long. I liked the beer and my food was good, just seems the workers there are idiots. You would think that they would have a traing program befor they opened.

I think BR people keep going back there expecting it to be better.

BJ's opened a location in Pearland, TX a little over a month ago. After reading all of the stuff posted here we were expecting the worst. We were invited to their training week and the service was excellent, but of course it's set up that way. One of the trainers that was observing our table was from the BR location, which I find to be ironic based on this thread. Anyway, we have been back a couple of times since and have yet to have a bad experience with food or service. We've been at different times of the day and it has been packed everytime. Maybe our location has been lucky, but I hope the one in BR gets it right sooner rather than later.

you should be OK at the bar .. although, the last time we were at the bar there were two bartenders .. bar was maybe 2/3rds full and we watched the two bartenders walk back and forth in front of us making blue and pink fu fu frozen drinks for the waiters at the end of the bar .. finally, after about 15 minutes, one of them noticed 6 people sitting in the dead center of the bar with nothing in front of them ... really bummed me out, because service at the bar has kinda salvaged the place for me until that point ..

I've been once, and it was "eh".
the beer I wanted was out, service was so so, but the food was great.

but every single one of my friends that has gone there after I did has the same complaint:
the service sucks.

that's the bottom line -- the food is decent .. beer's really good .. but the service is just atrocius ! we had an earlier poster talking about the service being good at one in texas and i have a friend near san diego that says the one over there is incredibly popular ... i just think it is isolated to this location .. i have kind of gotten to know one of the bartenders and talked to him about this .. he said management has received numerous complaints about it and that some complaints have actually filtered back to corporate .. supposedly there is going to be a big to do with the current management staff in the next few weeks ..

Would be nice if they could make it better... but it seems the problem is just as much with not having a good group of applicants to choose from as the management.
You just can't turn every slapdick that applies into a really good waitperson.
