looks like they're opening one in Slidell at the new Fremaux shopping center.
According to their website, there's one in Baton Rouge. What do y'all think about it?
I'm not sure Slidell will support craft beer, sadly.

Average at best. Have you had covington brewhouse?
Btw, it isnt a brewhouse per se. If it is a good location it will fill the seats because of its gigantic menu.

It's just alright.
The food, the beer, the service (when I've been) is just alright.
Every now and then I've had a beer from them that was impressive, but most are very mediocre.

Beers are okay I suppose. It's been a year or so since I've been, but I recall having a flight of all their beers and wasn't impressed.

They're not bad beers, but they aren't something you go out of your way for.

Haven't been in many years. I remember enjoying some sort of good chicken dish.

They're okay, but they have a really large bottle list for a restaurant, so I almost always get a bottled beer there. I've only ordered their beer a couple times.
Also, if I remember correctly, most of the bottles are very fairly priced.
Food is just okay. I usually get several "small bites", which are mini appetizers and like $3 a plate.

Slidell doesn't have to support it from a craft beer standpoint. Look at Chimes Covington and Old Rail. Everytime I go to these places it's more of a restaurant / little league baseball party atmosphere than a craft beer vibe.

just stating facts.. the only places in town where you can occasionally find an IPA on draft (for example) are Palmetto's, Maple Room, Speckled T's (terrible), and Buffalo Wild Wings..
I'm not hating on the place, it's just a blue collar town..

The craft beer scene will catch up. As usual, Louisiana is 5-10 years behind on any trend. Go to places like Philadelphia where you can struggle to find a Bud Light in certain areas.

Like others have said the beer is ok. It's probably not going to impress or offend you.
The BJs in Louisiana don't have on site brewing like some of the locations out west. All of the beers here are corporate recipes brewed by St Arnold.
They do have decent lunch and happy hour deals on their beers. I want to say it was something like $3 pints.

Nice prices on their Belgian beer bottles.
With the amount of food on the menu, I assume plenty is just frozen and heated on the spot

The deep dish pizza has been very good the 3 times I've ordered it, but I've hardly had anything else off the menu that's edible.
Ordering their version of pastalaya was a dreadful experience.
Beers have been ok.

Yep, it's not a problem isolated to Slidell, but things are improving in the area. Loving all of the new breweries popping up and the ability to try a new beer on tap at least once a week. It's an exciting time.
