Yeah I follow them in Instagram and Facebook, but it seems like you cant just roll up and order a couple of tacos. Maybe its different on weekends but during the week I think you need to pre order prepared packages.

For the best birria (served every single day) in Houston - Tacos Dona Lena in Spring Branch
Maybe if you like to dunk your food in grease drippings. If you want food porn follow Harlem Road BBQ in Richmond or Tejas BBQ in Tomball.

Birria has always been in San Antonio. I would drive down every few months, visit with clients, then grab a bowl of Birria.
Glad it has become popular and is now in Austin.
As far as birria tacos, pretty sure that is the new trendy food thing and that's fine, but all I really want is a big bowl of birria.

I used the recipe mmmmbeer used off YouTube and it was amazing. I had to go to the local Hispanic store down the road to get all those dried chilis. I probably watched a dozen YouTube videos on how to make the stuff so my recipe may have been a combination of various recipes because none of them were exactly the same. Man it’s a process making those things but it was worth it.

If you like birria, and are in the greater NOLA area, you should check out Secret Birria (they also have a birria ramen)
I was super pumped to give this place a shot.
So, ya know, I did, I ordered the tacos and the ramen. I thought the tacos were bland and the ramen was a salt bomb. It was a major let down. Maybe I had hyped it up too much in my head in advance, but I've not been back since. I really wanted it to be better.
Maybe my experience was an off night.

Yeah I mean realistically speaking, it’s braised meat with some Mexican herbs/seasoning vs what we’d traditionally use flavor wise for short ribs or whatever.
