Went to the one in Kenner last night. Steady stream of people coming in.

The soup is probably some of the best Tomato soup around, the name sake sandwich was awesome, but too much cheese for me. The turkey and bacon one the misses had was better.
Really good though, great prices.

Lots of fans, I'd imagine. That place seems to be killing it. Already opening multiple other locations.

Smart move opening one up on Williams in Mecca.

I haven't tried Lily's yet, heard they had Viet food. If I can get a place halfway as good as Kim Ahn's or Pho Tau on Williams I'd never have to leave Kenner for ethnic or comfort food. (other than our jaunts to Mizado and Commander's)

Did you actually just complain that a grilled cheese had too much cheese?

I didn't complain, just said that I tried the Big Cheezy and it was too cheezy for me. I was trying not to say I loved it going down, but it wrecked my stomach last night.

It was an excellent sandwich with five types of cheese and three slices of bread. But the feeling of having to go but not being able to, tells me it was too much cheese for me.

Pho Bang has great pho and Pho Sunshine is serviceable. Neither are on KH level which is in the top 3 best restaurants in town.

That's a valid explanation

I would mess that sandwich up right now.

totally agree, just need one in Kenner.
I loved my little Than Truc, and the X1. A dish I never learned the name of, just the menu number and have never found it anywhere else.

whats cool is they toast the bread first, so even the inside layer of bread is toasted, it holds up well. That soup though. I was using it as a dipping sauce.
It's a tomato basil and is very good.

This one is my favorite so far.

Too much cheese in a grilled cheese is gross. You need the perfect ratio.

It's thick and it often hardens some like the one in the photo
It's a very real thing.

How is that Don Jose place on Williams & Vets Napoleon? They seem to have pretty good Yelp reviews.

It's the kids new favorite place. In my opinion for Tex-Mex it's really good. It's just that when I crave latin and don't have the kids I'm more likely to go to Georgia's or Mi Pueblito. Don Jose's is like Carreta's or Casa Garcia, but I think their food is better, their margaritas are much better as well. It's good. It's actually the first place that is located in that spot to last more than a year and have a packed parking lot every day.

It's almost like Kenner people are discovering there is more than the restaurants around the mall. Lots of places on Williams are doing well now.

If you want Tex Mex and are in Kenna it's the place to go.

(Though if you want Pancho's style, there is that option further down the street (two amigos), I just don't like buffets that much)
