Also, went to the Whistling Table over in forest park yesterday (done by the guys that do Shindigs). It was pretty good. Not somewhere I'm going to go just all the time, but definitely a good change of pace to throw into the rotation.

After all the hype, Chez Fon Fon didn’t have a chance.

Now, when y’all say the burger at Sammy’s, y’all are talking about the strip club right?

Anyone tried the two Ethiopian places? There’s one on Greensprigs and the one at Pizitz.

Bham is a fun town for food people now. Seems there is a new place doing new things every time I look around.

I wish. Sammy's Sandwich Shop on Messer Hwy.

I tried the one in the Pizitz. It was fine, didn't blow me away on anything though.

I really wanted to like Pizitz, and the concept is cool, but both times I've been the food has been underwhelming. First time I had the ramen, and the second time I had something from that poke place.

I like Eli's, but I live and work close to his main store and go there frequently already so wanted to try something else.

Everything is overpriced and underwhelming. I enjoy hanging out there, but the food isn't anything spectacular. Eli's is the only place I really like there.

I love it because one of the only places I trust to eat a burger medium rare.

No but it's sketchier than the strip club. Worth it though.

I've had the one at Pizitz. Nothing special IMO. I'll have to try the one on Greensprings.

I think I'm going with the The Diplomat. It's lighter for a trip and there's no deli like this in Jackson.

Their chili is fantastic, though it's not really chili weather.

Their chili and a grilled cheese would be one of my top contenders for my last meal. Seriously.

I'd also like to throw Wasabi Juan's out there. I love that place and try to go at least once a month. It's a concept I've not seen anywhere else.

I can agree with that. I did enjoy the poke place, it was good. Eli's is by far the best thing there. Everything else has been pretty meh and way too expensive. The Standard is awful IMO. The Italian place they put inside was pretty decent too, but there are better options in Bham. I love the concept though and the bar has always been decent. They've made me some pretty good cocktails.

I like their food, but dammit if I have an irrational hatred for places I can't get a fountain drink at.

I'm not a sushi person, but I could eat the Ignition and 420 Nachos all day long.

This and the LHM are the only burritos worth a crap, but man are they good.
