Any methods to reheat pastalaya to avoid drying it out? Have some family in town from West Texas and gonna reheat some after the boil soup on the stove on low heat, but was unsure how to reheat the Pastalaya? Both were previously frozen and have been thawed.

double boiler is your best bet, but I'm warning you, it's not going to taste that great no matter what you do

pastalaya does not reheat well after being frozen, and really doesn't reheat well at all

reheat the Pastalaya

I recently reheated pastalaya in a non-stick skillet with a little butter. Heated up pretty good. Noodles were not mushy. Not sure how much you are trying to reheat though.

If it is a lot, maybe a pan in the oven would get it hot quick without making the pasta mush.

Got a good bit. Probably 5-6 servings. Thanks for the responses. Gonna try the stock in the cast iron pot method and hope for the best. Low heat/covered?

I would be worried your pasta turns too mushy if you add more liquid. But who knows. I am not a pastalaya reheater expert. Add the stock slowly until the pastalaya is heated through, then serve immediately. I would not leave in that hot pot. I just feel that is a recipe for mushy pasta.

I’ve had good luck storing and freezing in Foodsaver bags. Then you can simmer up to temp in water. I’ve not done pastalaya, but I have done jambalaya and crawfish with that method.

I microwave mine. Place a damp/wet paper towel over pasta and nuke for 30-45 secs or so.
